One of the two exciting and exotic water parks located at the Walt Disney World Resort, this 56 acre tropical paradise to sure to excite visitors of all age groups. Expect a huge variety of wet excitements including thrilling rides, speed slides, snorkeling with real sharks, surf pools and family rides,.
You can also enjoy the relaxing picnic spots, fill your tummy with delicious quick snacks, and recuperate at the kids-safe areas. Make sure you do not carry any glass items or alcohol and you definitely avail the guest services including locker rentals and complimentary life jackets.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is one of the two water parks located at the Walt Disney World Resort. This 56 acre amusement park features different attractions for different age groups and is one of the excellent spots for a family vacation. You can expect some wildest water attractions and also gear for exciting and adventurous hours with thrilling rides. Expect to enjoy the excitement of six foot waves in the surf pool, fast waterslides and watch real sharks. In addition, this park contains picnic spots, children's playing area and sandy beaches for relaxing and recuperating.
This park which was opened in June 1989 is based on a "Disney legend" of a typhoon that created chaos on a tropical paradise. The central attraction of this park is "Miss Tilly" which is a hapless shrimp boat transfixed on a mountain which is named "Mount Mayday". True to the legend, fishing gears, surfboards and ships are strewn about to create a 'stormy background'.
"Lagoona Gator" is the name of the park's mascot. This amusement park houses one of the world's largest wave pool. Every 30 minutes, there is an eruption of nearly 50 foot of water.

Learn to Surf
Visitors can learn surfing by availing the 150 minute session at additional charges which includes surf gear equipments before the opening of the park. This session is conducted by "Craig Carroll's Cocoa Beach Surf School"
Guest Services
This list provides tips on comfortable wear, ATM locations and locker renting procedures. It is advisable to rent a locker to keep your personal belongings safely and enjoy the thrilling attractions. Wear water shoes while visiting the Water Park as you may have to climb stairs for certain thrilling rides. Do not forget to borrow life jacket which is available for free to enjoy safe rides. For small children, swim diapers are available for purchase near the entrance at the Singapore Sal's store.
Food and beverages
There are 2 picnic areas, restaurant and outdoor pool bar. Typically, a light lunch or dinner would cost less than $15 per adult. Glass items and alcoholic items are restricted inside the water parks. Coolers are allowed, however. You can purchase special dining coupons and avail discounts on food items at more than 100 Walt Disney restaurants worldwide
Transportation
You can avail bus facility to commute throughout Walt Disney World Resort. It is complimentary for hotel guests who can avail complimentary self-parking facility f they choose to commute in their own vehicle.
