Universal Studios

Universal Studios, a widely popular attraction in Florida, opened to the public on June7, 1990. This theme park is set in the background of various "movie" themes inspired from popular films and gives the experience of visitors to "ride the movies".

The park has six theme-based areas which include: New York, Hollywood, San Francisco / Amity, World Expo, Production Central, and the KidZone.

If you're one of the lucky visitors, you'll also see some live filming as Universal studio is also a sophisticated TV production studio. Even if there is no live shooting, about 40 sets are played as a reel history displayed along Rodeo Drive and Hollywood Boulevard.

There are fast-paced thrilling rides for adults based on world-famous blockbusters like Men in Black, Terminator, the Hulk, Twister and The Mummy. In addition, there are enormous varieties of action shows and adventurous rides, some of which include Fear Factor Live, Shrek 4-D, Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast and Revenge of the Mummy. For Blue Man Group, one of the recent additions to the park, a separate ticket needs to be bought.

Universal Studios Florida entertains its visitors with an interesting line up of street characters which include Sarita and Rico, Lucy and Ricky and Men in Black. You may also bump into some characters greeting you on rotating basis like Shrek, Woody Woodpecker, Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob SquarePants among others.

Universal studios also takes care that it does not disappoint the kids too by providing enough entertainment at the KidZone

Universal Studios® is open all through the year. You can start enjoying your today right from 9 AM. Closing times are different depending on a variety of factors. Do not miss the Universal CityWalk® after your memorable day at the thrilling rides. Relax and recuperate, fill you tummy with great food and beverages in the background of soft music. The operating hours of Universal CityWalk® is right from 11 AM to 2 AM throughout the year.

New York: The street sets here create the filmy backdrop for a production set in a huge city and covers right from alleyway of 1920s till brownstone residence of the famous Manhattan street

• - Revenge of the Mummy^SM: Indulge in a psychologically thrilling roller coaster ride in complete darkness as you face scarab beetles, fireballs and an army of mummy warriors. Get ready to scream out your excitement in this unique perspiring experience. Minimum height of 48" required.
• - TWISTER...Ride It Out®: An action packed experience of being a storm chaser with a dangerous tornado right before your eyes. Gear up for the incredible special effects of the worst explosive force. No height restrictions for this attraction

World Expo: An area of the Universal Studio with a unique setting of an international exhibition that blends the futuristic and retro look. Explore "The Universe and You", the Fair exhibit with the elements of 1964

• - MEN IN BLACK ^TM Alien Attack^TM: A high interactive thrilling ride where you chase the aliens through the New York streets. Minimum height of 42" required.
• - The Simpsons Ride^TM: Embark on a thrilling, wild journey though Krustyland and gear up for exciting surprises. Minimum height of 40" required.

San Francisco/Amity: Get transported from the picturesque San Francisco's fisherman's wharf to the Amity, a beautiful fishing village

• - Jaws: an exciting water adventure with the fury of waters and a three ton shark all set to pounce on you
• - Fear Factor Live: Participate in an amphitheatre show where you can perform complicated stunts in front of an audience. If you opt out to be participant, you can choose to be the cheering audience. This show is temporarily closed until the spring of the year 2009.
• - Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review: A live performance in an open-air amphitheatre filled with screaming monstors and wailing musical wonders
• - Disaster! Ever wondered what would be the experience of facing an earthquake as high as 8.3 Ritcher scale? Do not miss this motion ride!

Woody Woodpecker's KidZone: Relive your childhood and relax with your children and some of your child's popular and entertaining stars. This area of the park has numerous rides and attractions that would interest people of all ages

• - Animal Actors On Location!: Watch a lot of action with a humorous mix of live performances, videos, funny music which the audience can enjoy!
• - E.T. Adventure: Engage in a fantasy ride with E.T. and help him get back home and save his planet
• - A Day in the Park with Barney: Have fun by singing and clapping with Barney® and his dear friends in a live stage show
• - Curious George Goes to Town: Have water based fun with the mischievous monkey in a colorful play area or immerse yourself in a dry area with soft sponge balls to relax you
• - Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster: Enjoy yourself in this fun filled family style roller coaster ride along with your kids and visit Woody Woodpecker's nut factory
• - Fievel's Playground: An exciting waterslide with interesting twists and turns featuring a cowboy hat (1,000 gallons) and spider web (a 30 foot climb). This attraction is closed till the end of March.

GUEST SERVICES:

• - First Aid: Available at Family Services
• - Baby Swap Areas: Available at each attraction for parents to take turns and watch their children
• - Restrooms / Companion Restrooms / Nursing facilities: Located in various areas including the CityWalk complex. Diaper changing areas and wheelchairs for physically challenged people are available at all restrooms. A companion restroom is also available at Family Services
• - Telephones: Located throughout the park at main entrance, Guest Services window and near all public restrooms. Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TDDs) for people with hearing disabilities are available at Guest Services.
• - Kennel Boarding: You can leave your pets during the day, but there is no facility for leaving the pets overnight. Guests need to take care of nourishment and also take their pets for walk themselves.

Smoking policies

Smoking is not permitted inside restaurants and bars serving food. But there are 12 designated areas which allow smoking. Smoking in the rest of the areas is strictly banned.

Security:

Your belongings would be thoroughly checking before you enter the park. Coolers are strictly not permitted inside the theme parks. It is also recommended to avoid unnecessarily articles and valuables to the attractions. Sharp items, drugs, alcoholic beverages, large umbrellas, folding chairs are not permitted.

Rentals:

Manual wheelchairs, Strollers and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) are available for aged and physically challenged guests. It is recommended to book ECV prior to arrival and should be operated by just one person who is above 18 years of age

Lockers:

Family lockers are available for rent and guests can access these lockers any number of times during the day.

Parking:

This enclosed area also houses elevators, escalators, wheel chair rentals, kennel boarding facilities and moving sidewalks. Guests can also avail valet parking in the case of vans and cars.

Dining:

Utilize "Universal Meal Deal" offer and avail discounts on food items. You can also choose trans-fat-free to maintain your diet and fitness quotient. Special kids meals are also available

Shopping:

Indulge yourself in fun-filled shopping at all the six zones by picking up souvenirs, apparels and other accessories with your favorite characters. Do not miss the delicious fudges and chocolates while you shop!
