History does go back a ways in Orlando, and even pre-dates the 1968 introduction of the MAgic Kingdom.

Native AMerican Indian society dominated the area until the mid 1800s, and you'll find many places to get a better feel for how these societies prospered at several of the areas museums and historical centers.

Colonial and plantation life comes alive with African American cultural centers and other museums celebrating railroad, carpentry, the telephone and other heritage centers focused on local geopolitical areas.
