Orlando and Central Floirda have witnessed phenomenal growth over the past 30 years - since the creation of Disney World in 1968.

And, while tourism plays a huge role in the economy here, it is by no means the only thing that brings people and business here. Florida and Central Florida in particular are very business friendly and is consistently ranked in the top 10 for Technology, Most Wired, Best for Moviemaking, Hot Cities for growth, Defense, and many other industries.

For those who live here, the attractions are just a little bonus.

Forecasts put Orlando in the lead for job creation - expectations of 50,000 new jobs per year are the norm.

There are approximately 3,000 high technology companies here, with the list growing every day. It is also a well-known movie production center (3rd in the nation) with a well known community college (Vallencia) training new talent.

Orange county - Orlando - is expected to lead the state in job creation until at least 2010. University of Central Florida and the Research Park are big movers in tech and banking.
